Little Sunlights Nursery is located within the grounds of The Romsey School and provides a welcoming, nurturing environment for children aged 4 months to 4 years, prior to starting school. We offer both full-day and sessional care, operating Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, for 51 weeks of the year.
We maintain a close partnership with The Romsey School, with students regularly visiting the nursery each morning to engage in reading and play activities with the children. This daily interaction supports the development of confidence, independence, and positive social relationships for both the nursery and school-aged children.
Our links with the wider community are equally important. We are fortunate to collaborate with local groups such as the Men’s Shed charity, who kindly craft beautiful, handmade resources for the children to enjoy. Additionally, children from Little Sunlights visit Marie Louise Care Home on a weekly basis, fostering intergenerational connections and a strong sense of community.
Children also benefit from our dedicated Nature Nursery, which offers daily hands-on learning experiences. Through activities like planting, harvesting, and observing the life cycle of crops, children gain a deeper understanding of the natural world. Our expansive outdoor space encourages physical development through climbing, balancing, cycling, role-play, obstacle courses, and sensory play in the mud kitchen and large sandpit. We also make use of the school field for running and sports activities.
To support the development of essential life skills, children take turns assisting our talented cook in the kitchen, learning about food, preparation, and teamwork in a fun and practical way.
